Press Release - Aitchison Seed Matic Tine Drill
The Aitchison range of specialist seed drills
are widely accepted around the world as
being premium machines and are noted for
their accuracy, durability and performance in
the field. They have been developed over the
past 35 years and encompass the latest in
seeding techniques and are market leaders
with several patented and unique features.
The sponge, seed feed mechanism, offers a
coefficient of variation of 97% - 98% accuracy
and can handle all seeds from the smallest
brassicas’/turnips to broadbeans with
sowing rates from as low as 1# pound and up to 350# pounds per acre. Aitchison was the first
seed drill in the world to use the revolutionary inverted T Baker boot. The Nihard boot, with a
tungsten tip, when used with a vibratory action tine creates a fine tilled seedbed as well as
fracturing the soil allowing the developing seedling to better access soil nutrients. Roots are
pruned on competing plants while inverted T-slot traps humidity, stimulating germination, even in
dry soil. The actively prepared seedbed covers the seed consistently with approximately ¼” of
fine, tilled soil. Superb seed to soil contact and minimal resistance to both: putting down roots
and plants emergence, is achieved. Seedbox agitators and dividers are standard to ensure even
sowing and to arrest lateral seed movement.
The Aitchison Seedmatic range of seed drills
is the most versatile pasture rejuvenation
drill on the market. They are available as
seed only or seed and fertilizer, linkage or
trailed, tine with or without disc coulters and
with disc openers. Options include a 3rd or
small seeds box. With 12, 16, 20 or 24 runs
on a 3 rank stagger frame (ideal for trash
clearance) at 6” row spacing, these will be
the perfect machines available to suit
individual needs.
The Aitchison Prairie Dog seed only drill has
been designed with U.S. seed specialists to sow all seed varieties including American native
grasses and features a new vertical clamping tine and inverted T Baker boot, a deeper 3 rank
stagger frame and an additional seedbox agitator. It has a 7ft. sowing width with 14 tines and 6”
row spacing.
The Interseeder Professional series drill
utilizes technology from both the Seedmatic
and Prairie Dog. The wider rank stagger and
vertical clamping tines are designed for use in
particularly harsh trash conditions. Standard
row spacing in 5 ¼”. The double roller fertilizer
system handles all fertilizers and can sow
seeds at rates as low as 7 lbs. pre acre.
The Aitchison A.M. No-Till drill offers unparalleled
versatility to tackle every sowing condition, whether
it be no-ill, direct trash seeding over stubble or into
conventionally cultivated soil. This drill is able to transfer its weight forward onto its sowing discs
or back onto its cast press wheel by means of its unique electrohydraulic weight transfer
system. This ensures that the seeding depth is maintained no matter what the ground
conditions and contour as each unit is separately sprung both front and back.
The Aitchison Seed Matic Tine Drill has definitely proven to be a great machine worldwide for
many types of seed applications.
